The Wallace County Chamber of Commerce is proud to have supported local businesses and our communities. We are looking forward to a many great years in the future and welcome everyone's participations in our organizations. In the past year , we have worked to improve awareness of the benefits of "shopping local" and want to continue to support businesses as they serve the needs of our communities.
Events of the past year include 4th of July Fireworks, Trunk or Treats with a Hotdog feed, St. Patrick's Family Game Night, Santa Clause Movie and Treat Bags and Pictures and a combined effort with both schools for young people to highlight "Why I Love Wallace County". With assistance of local volunteer, Whitney Larson, we law the Christmas Parade of Lights light up downtown Sharon Springs. We partnered with the Rec Department for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Business promotions include Shop Hometown for the Holidays including a drawing for Christmas baskets to local shoppers. Over $500 was spent in local businesses for these baskets. We were proud to sponsor to sponsor the Acton Children's Business Fair and supported our youngest entrepreneurs with Chamber Bucks prizes. Chamber Bucks may only be used in Chamber Businesses. We were pleases to host the Northwest Kansas Economic Innovations Center here to present to local businesses and they are partnering with the new Wallace County Community Development effort.
Chamber members also volunteer to put up flags at major holidays for participating individuals and businesses who sign up for the flag fundraiser.
Upcoming Goals for 2023 include: sponsoring or supporting and event which impacts local businesses, shop local promotions, and cooperating with the new community effort in addition to other supports and resources offered to local businesses. Please contact any Chamber member with ideas, suggestions or needs you might have. We are interested in how we can support your work.
